4. Offer to Close
The Final Stretch!
The Final Stretch!
Congratulations! Your offer was accepted, but there are still several steps leading up to closing.
First there’s the inspection. This allows you to perform due diligence on the condition of the property. The buyers attorney (you’ll need an attorney to buy a home in Massachusetts) and sellers attorney will then draft the purchase and sale agreement based on your accepted offer. Now onto financing the purchase. You’ll apply for a mortgage, and you’ll need a lender at this stage. The mortgage contingency, about four weeks later, protects you should your financing not go as planned.
Almost there. We can now schedule the closing and perform a final walk-through of the home when the seller has moved out. At the closing you’ll sign the mortgage paperwork and complete the transaction. Soon after you’ll receive the keys to your new home.
The specific details and timeline of your closing process may vary. Working closely with your agent, lender and closing professionals will ensure a smooth and successful closing experience.
